The Moon Deity of Japanese Myth
Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto is a moon deity in Japanese mythology and is traditionally connected with Amaterasu and Susanoo. Compared with the sun goddess, Tsukuyomi is described less fully in surviving myth, which leaves the moon, night, and celestial order as the strongest visual foundations for this interpretation.
