The water never stops. It falls without pause, without mercy— yet she remains.

Hatsuhana is a tragic figure from the kabuki play Hakone Reigen Izari no Adauchi, remembered for her quiet devotion and unwavering resolve. Even after death, her spirit is said to stand beneath the waterfall, continuing her prayers for the sake of the one she loved.

She does not resist the falling water. She does not step away.

She endures.

Unlike spirits driven by anger or fear, Hatsuhana’s presence is defined by stillness and purpose. The relentless flow that strikes her body again and again becomes part of her existence, a silent testament to determination that does not fade.

This illustration captures her standing beneath the waterfall, her expression calm, her posture unbroken. The flowing water and surrounding rocks create a powerful sense of movement, while her unmoving figure anchors the entire scene in quiet strength.

初花（滝の下に立つ霊）

水は止まることなく流れ続ける。 途切れることなく、容赦もなく—— それでも彼女はそこに立ち続けています。

初花は、歌舞伎『箱根霊験躄仇討』に登場する女性で、 その一途な想いと揺るがぬ意志で知られています。 愛する人のために祈り続ける彼女は、 死後もなお滝の下に立ち、その祈りを絶やすことはありません。

流れに抗うこともなく、 その場を離れることもありません。

ただ、耐え続けています。

怒りや恐怖に突き動かされる霊とは異なり、 初花の存在は静けさと目的によって支えられています。 絶え間なく打ちつける水さえも、その意思の一部のように感じられます。

本イラストでは、滝の下に佇む彼女の姿を描いています。 激しく流れる水と岩の動きが強い流動感を生み出す一方で、 彼女の動かない姿が画面全体を静かに支えています。

動と静が同時に存在するこの構図は、 美しさと苦しみ、そして揺るがぬ決意をひとつの場面に閉じ込めています。
