The Hungry Spirits of Endless Desire

Gaki are tormented spirits condemned to eternal hunger, cursed to wander in search of food and water that can never truly satisfy them. No matter how much they consume, their craving only grows, leaving them in a constant state of suffering.

In this depiction, the Gaki appears as a grotesque and emaciated figure, its swollen belly contrasting sharply with its thin, skeletal limbs. Its mouth is stretched wide, yet never enough to take in what it seeks, symbolizing an endless and futile desire.

この作品では、餓鬼はやせ細った手足と膨れ上がった腹を持つ 異様な姿として描かれています。 大きく開いた口は、何かを求め続ける象徴でありながら、 決して満たされることのない空虚さを感じさせます。

その表情には怒りではなく、切実な渇望と絶望が表れています。 襲いかかる恐怖ではなく、 逃れられない状態そのものが恐怖として描かれています。
