Unreachable Love

Beneath the bridge, she waits in silence.

Hashihime is a spirit born from love that could not be fulfilled. In Japanese folklore, she is often portrayed as a woman whose deep longing and betrayal transformed her into something far beyond human. The bridge becomes her boundary—a place where she remains, unable to move forward, unable to return.

Above, life continues. The one she once loved walks beside another, their laughter carried by the wind. Yet those sounds never reach her. She exists just beneath them, separated by a distance that cannot be crossed.

This illustration captures that quiet division. The calm scene above contrasts with the stillness below, where sorrow has already settled into something deeper. There is no movement, no cry—only a presence bound by emotion that refuses to fade.

橋姫の想い （届かぬ愛）

橋の下で、彼女は静かに待ち続ける。

橋姫は、報われなかった愛から生まれた存在。日本の伝承では、深い想いと裏切りによって心を歪められた女性が、そのままこの世に留まり続ける姿として語られます。橋は彼女の境界であり、前にも後ろにも進めない場所です。

その上では、何事もなかったかのように時間が流れています。かつて愛した人は、別の誰かと共に歩き、その笑い声が風に乗って広がっていきます。しかし、その声は決して彼女には届きません。

このイラストは、その「届かない距離」を描いています。穏やかな日常と、そのすぐ下にある静かな絶望。叫ぶこともなく、動くこともなく、ただそこに存在し続ける想いだけが残されています。
