Umibozu is a mysterious yokai said to rise suddenly from the ocean, appearing without warning in the midst of open water. Emerging like a living shadow, its presence is overwhelming, capable of destroying ships in an instant.
Unlike creatures that announce themselves with violence, Umibozu appears in stillness. It rises from beneath the surface, its true size hidden in the depths, making it feel less like a living being and more like a force of nature.

多くの妖怪が暴力的に現れるのに対し、海坊主は静寂の中に現れます。その巨体のほとんどは水面下に隠れており、全体像を捉えることができないため、生き物というよりも自然現象のような存在として感じられます。
