Our first goddess design for Chibi Kawaii Goddesses Coloring Book is Amaterasu, the Japanese sun goddess.
For this page, we wanted to keep the mythology feeling simple and gentle, while focusing on a cute chibi character with a calm, royal presence.
Amaterasu is not drawn as a distant or serious figure. She is small, soft, and adorable, but still has the quiet confidence of a goddess.
“Of course I’ll shine on you. Try to keep up.”
A Calm but Powerful Expression
The main focus of this design is her expression.
She has large colorable eyes, a slightly raised chin, and a quiet gaze that looks down at the viewer. The goal was to make her feel cute, but also a little proud and divine.
Instead of using a big smile, her mouth is kept very small and calm. This gives her a sweet but slightly superior look, which has become part of the YWY Art Studio style for this series.
Simple Mythology Motifs
Amaterasu is shown with a sacred sun mirror, soft cloud ribbons, and magatama-inspired charms.
These elements are inspired by Japanese mythology, but they are kept simple and easy to color. The focus is not on complicated details, but on a relaxing and charming coloring experience.
Designed for Relaxing Coloring

This page is designed with beginners in mind.
The lines are bold, the shapes are rounded, and the coloring areas are large enough to enjoy with markers, colored pencils, or crayons.
Even though the design is simple, we wanted it to feel polished and memorable. The big eyes, soft sleeves, tiny body, and calm expression all work together to create a small goddess with her own personality.
Part of the Goddess Series
Amaterasu is the first step in building the visual style for this new coloring book.
Each goddess in the series will have her own sacred treasures and fantasy details, but they will all share the same chibi kawaii feeling: cute, calm, a little magical, and just a bit powerful.
