Ushi-oni is a fearsome yokai said to dwell along rocky shores, misty coastlines, and isolated regions of western Japan.

Its form varies by legend, but it is most commonly described as having the head of an ox and the body of a monstrous spider or beast, with long, jointed legs that move with unsettling weight.

Despite its heavy appearance, Ushi-oni is known for sudden violence. It does not chase— it waits, and strikes without warning.
